This stores owner thought it was a good idea to talk poor about her customers in public, insinuating that they were so full of themselves, they would blow $175 on a burger just to show off to their friends. She further implies that her customers are assholes with financially poor friends.
I don’t think I would ever visit again there after hearing the owner thought I was a snob. If I can afford their prices, then I can also afford to eat elsewhere.
: Wall Street Burger Shoppe insults its customers publicly
(hat tip to McCaw for this one)
NEW YORK – Does that come with fries? Despite the economic downturn, a Lower Manhattan restaurant is now offering a $175 hamburger. It’s made of Kobe beef, topped with gold flakes, black truffles, a thick slab of seared foie gras and aged Gruyere cheese.
Wall Street Burger Shoppe co-owner Heather Tierney thinks of it as “a work of art.”
Tierney says the item attracts Wall Street types who down a few beers and then fork over $175 to “show off in front of their friends.”
