Manila and room service

Its times like this when I start thinking about leaving Boracay, it isn’t very clean. Manila has hot water, electricity, and a lack of people burning trash and fish and chemicals outside your window. The lack of shootings. Service staff that can get an order right. Fully cooked food. Everyday, I see something that I’ve never seen elsewhere in the world – people openly tossing their trash on the ground. People casually stroll the beach and drop their icecream wrappers right in the middle of the path… not trying to hide it at all. I always get my passport copies at a certain pharmacy in D’Mall and while waiting, without fail, people come up for medicines, swallow tabs, and toss the trash right on the ground instead of the trashcan 1 meter away.

That roachmotel I was in, Travelers Inn, it had to go. I even left my last night up for grabs. The snobby bitch downstairs kept interrupting me to say she wouldn’t deal with me until after 12 noon, checkout time. Huh? There was a roach on my arm that woke me up, but you cant (…interrupted again with the noon comment). She clearly expressed that updating her Multiply page was more important that an issue of health that should have them shut-down. Screw that mess, I walked a few blocks away for a room 3 times more expensive, I’m worth 5,000 php/night – right?

I like this 24hr room service, but now its coming on 2 weeks and I only went out once with G. Couldn’t walk for 3 days after that and was set to goto the hospital but M is back in country and we got sh*tfaced in my room… next day, I could magically walk.

Hi. I saw so many beautiful places on the Philippines, why to stay all the time on that island??? Take a nice companion and travel round

Dude, know what ya mean. It’s funny how Boracay gets all this hype in the media there and online reviews from people that never traveled the world. The place is a dump. The beaches were nice about 10 years ago. Nobody cares about that island. All they care about is making money today. When the beaches start turning a darker color, and the coral – what coral?? Diving sucks there.

I say within the next 10 years, some other island will be the new tourist destination and Boracay will be a thing of the past. And most of those old guys there budgeting their money with their new wives they met in a bar for 1500 pesos will follow them draining them dry and fucking around on them.

    5000 pesos??!! I was thinking 500 and breakfast! ;)

Looks like some other place like Apo Island, Malaspascua or a different country all together to check out.
