much better

Filed under: adsense, advertising, amazon, hangover, internet — JD @ 7:07 am

I was putzing around all day yesterday…trying to rehydrate and settle my stomach when the internet went out just as I sat down to do my already-late assignments. But on the bright side, I got some really good sleep in. My only problem now is that I’ve been in the air conditioning for 2 days straight so it’s not going to be easy getting back outside.

I have some new advertising stuff on the sites. Go ahead, click thru and make me rich!

UPDATE 21Mar2008: Sorry, I cannot recommend or even ask a third party to click on the google ads because I stand to gain financially from it. I did not know this until I logged into my account today and theres a whole new (and huge) terms of service I had to agree to. Presumably they would too but I guess they’re looking out for the interest of the ad-owners….I think….to be honest I’m not really sure. But they said so, and I’m sticking to it.

  1. How much do you get for every click? A penny? Just wondering.

  2. I dont remember…its not much. The google ones are click-thru or ‘number of impressions’, I forget which. I’m not supposed to ask people to click on them or do so myself….the amazon ones though, I think I get like 4% of the sale for referrals. Not too shabby.

  3. I’m also not sure how books about Liberal Fascism are related to the content of this site. At least the google ones took only a few hours to adjust…but I dont see any reason people would click on links about ‘, lets see what im showing now…Famous Filipino, Filipino Movies (they make movies?), and Filipino Recipes. Perhaps someone will.

The way it works is that you bid for your ad-words and can set a limit of how much you’re willing to pay per click. Then you set a maximum number of payable clicks-per day. Adwords are not what you see, it the target words on the site that you want google to search for so its related content…obviously the more words you choose and the more you pay for them means your ads will show up more often. Blue Mango said they got a lot of their sales from adsense advirtising so much that they had to stop it a while back because they were booked solid. Now the season is waning so they started agin. When you click, they have to pay and the owner of the site gets a tiny bit.

To date, I have earned $1.38
