Bus Notes: Part 2
I asked why there were so many police check points along one section of road. The answer: New Peoples Army. Yup, the NPA was in the mountains to my left. The person described them as revolutionaries that went after corrupt government officials and business leaders. I’m not sure what I should read into that. They have support from within the military and police ranks yet are enough of a danger to have frequent vehicle check points.

You gotta be shitting me. I mean, these guys seem fairly popular with the people…but in fact they are a communist group that just renamed? wow.

More NPA stuff
hmmmmm….. I’m gonna have to read more about this. It seems odd that people who’s life never changed (or would change by poverty levels) would support a group like this. I might be missing something.
